      My personal history in art began with drawing comic book characters on loose leaf at an early age. I realized that I had a knack for drawing as I was drawing those characters -- much like I had seen in the books. I was introduced to the variety of mediums in high school art, and fell for painting. During that time, I was inspired by my teacher and the eccentricities of his artistic personality. 

        Absent of art, my life would have a lack of curiosity, creativity, and all the colours of life would fade. Art isn’t my full-time job, or my main focus; however I can’t deny my need to recreate what I imagine in my mind and make unique pieces that show my tastes and interests.  

     Although right now art has taken the back seat, I still produce a number of paintings each year. I aspire to some day be a master of art in general, regardless of the medium in my lifetime. With time and expertise I will make mind-bending, original creations with uniqueness and originality being my end goal. I believe that my artistic impressions may outlive me and tell a creative and imaginative story of a person named shane bernard.
